Service Sunday (5th Sunday of the Month) @ Sanctuary UCC Storefront Ministry Center
Oct 29 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am

Everybody needs a little sanctuary!

Sanctuary’s vision is to be out – in the city – serving God’s people with love and care. Each 5th Sunday we will organize several service opportunities from which folk may choose to serve. These opportunities will always include:

  • making sandwiches for the parishioners of Cambridge’s Outdoor Church at 458 High Street;
  • systemic activism (ie: writing letters or making phone calls to engender change for justice);
  • an inter-generational opportunity to help (beginning in the spring of 2017).

Check back to find out more about this month’s project(s)!

If you are looking for our bi-monthly,  Second Thursday of the Month commitment to make and serve the evening meal during the even numbered months (Feb, April, June, August, Oct, Dec) at Bread of Life in Malden click here.

Heartfelt, Intelligent, Cross Cultural RomCom | Faith and Film
Nov 3 @ 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm

Funny, heartfelt, and intelligent, This film uses its appealing leads and cross-cultural themes to prove the standard romcom formula still has some fresh angles left to explore.

The story of a Pakistan-born comedian, who connects with an American grad student for what they thought would be just a one-night stand. It blossoms into the real thing, which complicates the life that is expected by his traditional Muslim parents.

When E. is beset with a mystery illness, it forces K. to navigate the medical crisis with her parents, who he’s never met, while dealing with the emotional tug-of-war between his family and his heart.

“…touching and perceptive…” “…a lot of charm…” “…big heart and shows there are still corners left to explore in romantic comedies; it just takes someone willing to find them.”
“There is a real dramatic streak throughout the film, but its real strength lies in being at once uproariously funny and endlessly charming.”
