Second Sunday is “Sandwich Sunday” for our youth and children.
On this special day, our youth make and bless sandwiches for the homeless parishioners of the Outdoor Church, Sanctuary/NPU’s longtime mission partner. Youth and Children are encouraged to come to the NPU kitchen at 11:00 am; parents can worship up-stairs during the hour of sandwich making and cookie baking (or help in the kitchen). The youth and kids bring the sandwiches to worship to be blessed by the gathered body—and they are taken to Outdoor Church by Rev. Tom.
Participants will be guided with clear instruction in gentle yoga-based exercise and breath focused meditation, using chairs for comfort and support. Emphasis will be given on cultivating relaxation and concentration, as well as maximizing circulation, joint mobility, immunity and bone strength. No previous experience with yoga is required.
Our teacher – West Medford’s yogi Judy Scribner-Moore – brings more than 30 years of experience teaching yoga and meditation to students of diverse ages, abilities and backgrounds.
Typically offered in six week segments on Wednesdays. If interested in participating in this class, please contact Sanctuary at 781.395.3360/[email protected] or Judy at [email protected] to reserve a space.
The suggested donation for each series of (6) 75-minute classes is $120.00
$ 20.00 per session for full term; Drop-in Price $ 25.00. If you need support with the cost of the classes please contact Rev. Wendy for information about scholarships.
Please bring a yoga mat and firm blanket to each class.
