DESCRIPTION:https://sanctuaryucc.org/mindfulness-training-seminar/ \nWith the practice of mindfulness\, we bring awareness\, clarity\, and calm to our lives. We become more compassionate to ourselves and others. \nThis course will introduce you to practices and meditation techniques that cultivate mindfulness in our daily lives. We will explore the benefits of mindfulness to our emotional\, mental\, and physical well-being as well as enhance our interpersonal relationships. \nEach week we will explore how mindfulness helps with key areas in our lives including how to: \n\nCultivate an embodied attention\nWork with strong emotions and manage emotional reactivity\nNavigate thoughts and distractions in meditation\nDevelop the skill of mindful listening and mindful communication\nCultivate kindness and care for ourselves and others\n\nYour teacher is Kate Beers\, a retired clinical social worker and human resources professional. She is a long-term practitioner of mindfulness meditation and is working toward her certification as a mindfulness teacher through the MindfulnessTrainingInstitute.com. \nDates and times:    Saturdays April 1\, 8\, 15\, 22\, 29 May 6; 1PM – 3PM\nLocation:         Fellowship Hall\, Hillside Community Church\, Medford\nParticipants:        6 – 10\nCost:             $50 for six sessions \nIf interested in participating\, please contact Kate Beers at kebeers@comcast.net

Door Paintapalooza Work Day. \nWe are thrilled to extend a warm invitation to you for a truly colorful and exciting event that celebrates unity\, diversity\, and the power of art. As part of Medford’s Interfaith PRIDE Service\, we will be painting doors in vibrant rainbow colors for an extraordinary art installation that will captivate hearts and minds. \nThe objective of this event is to create a visually stunning symbol of inclusivity and acceptance\, a testament to the diverse and beautiful community we are proud to be a part of. By transforming ordinary doors into vibrant canvases\, we aim to spread love\, joy\, and understanding through art. \nOur ten-door rainbow art project will be installed in Hillside’s sanctuary for the June 1\, 2023 Interfaith PRIDE Celebration; hosted by Hillside and Sanctuary UCC. \nBring your work clothes\, saw horses\, and tools and we’ll provide the organization and refreshments.
