But some of its deepest forms are quieter: gratitude\, relief\, connection\, hope\, meaning\, contentment\, peace. Like an iceberg\, much of our joy may be living beneath the surface\, holding us before we even have a name for it. \nIn Nehemiah\, the people are already weeping when they hear\, “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” Their tears are not dismissed. They are invited to eat\, celebrate\, and make sure no one is left out of the feast. Kahlil Gibran touches the same mystery when he writes that joy and sorrow are inseparable. They rise from the same deep life. \nThis Sunday in Soul Circle\, we will listen for the layers of joy within us. Reflecting on scripture\, music\, and imagery we will make room for whatever is true and look together for the pockets of joy that are still here.
