Friends,
As I head out for a few days of respite, I leave you with this wonderful list to consider, from Pastor Phil Ressler of the Lutheran Church of the Good Sheperd in Old Bridge, NJ. Ressler has published a book of the same title and you can sign up to receive a daily email inviting you into reflection on this list. Here are just a few of the 40 things Ressler suggests we give up for Lent…
- Fear of Failure – You don’t succeed without experiencing failure. Just make sure you fail forward.
- Your Comfort Zone – It’s outside our comfort zones where new discoveries are made.
- Feelings of Unworthiness – You are fearfully and wonderfully made by your creator. (see Psalm 139:14)
- Impatience – God’s timing is the perfect timing.
I hope you will check out the site here and see the rest of his wisdom.
