AM2PM 2025 will run from June 26th to July 2nd

BECOME A PEER MENTOR

Lead. Inspire. Make an Impact.

Are you a high school student looking to take your leadership skills to the next level while making a difference in your community? The AM2PM Peer Mentor role is your chance to step up as a leader, inspire your youngers, and be part of a transformative week of service, learning, and connection. On top of that – you will earn a a $500.00 stipend thanks to a grant from the City of Medford Community Fund!

Peer Mentors act as facilitators, role models, and connectors during the AM2PM program. Their primary role is to be a bridge between the program and community leaders and the younger participants, providing relatable leadership while fostering a culture of inclusion, curiosity, and reflection. Peer Mentors will model leadership behaviors, facilitate small group discussions, and assist with the logistics of service projects and daily activities.

As a Peer Mentor, you’ll play a vital role in guiding younger participants through hands-on service projects like serving meals, cleaning up neighborhoods, or working on community farms. You’ll also lead group discussions, foster teamwork, and facilitate reflection circles, helping others see the deeper meaning behind their work. You will be supported by adult program leaders and engaged in specialized leadership training—equipping you with skills in communication, collaboration, and values-driven leadership.

This is more than just a volunteer opportunity—it’s a chance to inspire others, grow as a leader, and leave a lasting impact on your community. Parents can rest assured knowing their teens will develop confidence, life skills, and a commitment to service, all in a supportive and empowering environment.

Each session will be 90 minutes.
The specific dates will be scheduled with the Peer Mentors who are selected.

Session 3: Communication & Collaboration
Youth will test their teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills in a format designed for maximum learning and reflection! Working well in a team and being a good communicator are crucial skills for every leader, and this session targets soft skill development in these areas of leadership.

Session 4: The Circle Way: A Leader in Every Chair
Youth will learn and practice the elements of facilitating dialogue and discovery through The Circle Way. The Circle Way puts equity and justice in the center and affirms the essential practice of turning to one another to uphold racial, ethnic, gender, disability, economic, and environmental justice.
