POSTPONED – Exceptionalism and Oppression: Revisioning Caste

November 10, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join Chellamal Keshavan former Chair of the Medford Human Rights Commission and current Neighborhood Fellow in the Urban and Environmental Planning Department in the Tufts Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in conversation with Pushcart Prize-winning poet Dr. Ravi Shankar author of the Memoir Magazine book prize finalist ‘ Correctional‘.

Shankar and Keshavan invite you to participate in a community conversation exploring class, caste, race, and the intersections of marginalized community interaction.

Please Register for the event here.  Space is limited at this location. We will move to a larger site if needed and you will be advised on the day of the event..

From Dr. Shankar https://www.poetravishankar.com/Excited to be in conversation with @chellikeshavan about #caste #class and #community – being an “ally” means more than liking a post or buying a book. We’ll delve into the porous boundary between #exceptionalism and #oppression using the living lyrical #word as a lantern to blaze a path forward. Join us in one of the final events featuring #Correctional @uwiscpress this year. #freetoallhumans #necessarydialogue #socialjusticeactivist
