Sunday Soul Circle: Let Go and Let God

This Sunday in Soul Circle, we will practice the holy and human work of surrender. Not surrender as defeat. Not surrender as silence. Not surrender as giving up our voice, our wisdom, or our agency. But surrender as release: the grace of loosening our grip on what we cannot control, what we no longer need to carry, and what may be keeping us from the deeper freedom of God.

We will use Judith Orloff’s The Power of Surrender cards as a doorway into reflection and discernment. You are invited to bring a real question to the circle: What am I ready to surrender? What habit, fear, burden, or old story am I being invited to release? Where am I trying to control what I need to entrust to God? With that question held gently, we will draw a card and listen for what rises: resonance, resistance, clarity, discomfort, surprise, or grace.

Psalm 46 invites us into the stillness where surrender becomes possible: “Be still, and know that I am God.” In that stillness, we remember that letting go does not mean falling apart. It may mean letting ourselves be held. Come with a question, a burden, a curiosity, or simply an open heart. Together, we will listen for the invitation to surrender, to loosen the grip, and to let go and let God.
