Sunday Soul Circle: Gratitude Without Grasping

There are things we wish we could keep forever: a person we love, a season of life, a community that has become sacred to us, a particular way of being together. Gratitude can sometimes make us want to close our hands around those gifts and say, Please. Just stay.

But perhaps gratitude asks something different. What if being thankful for what has been given does not require us to preserve it unchanged? What if we can cherish an experience, honor what it has given us, and allow its form to change without diminishing its worth?

This Sunday, in the fourth movement of our six-week journey, we move from receiving what remains toward gratitude without grasping. Together we will remember gifts, relationships, moments, and graces that have shaped us, and wonder what it means to hold them with open hands: grateful for what was, attentive to what is, and trusting that love does not disappear simply because something changes.
