Sunday Soul Circle: Blessing Beyond the Circle

For six Sundays, we have been practicing the sacred work of ending. We made room. We remembered. We received what remains. We gave thanks without grasping. We opened our hands and released. This Sunday, we arrive at the final movement: We bless.

Blessing is not pretending that we are finished grieving or that endings do not hurt. Blessing is what love can become when it no longer tries to hold on. In one of the final scenes of Luke’s Gospel, Jesus lifts his hands and blesses his friends even as he is leaving them. Perhaps that is one of the deepest gifts we can offer one another at a threshold: I cannot keep you or control what comes next, but I can bless you on your way.

This Sunday marks our final Soul Circle. Together, we will remember the blessings we have received, speak blessing over one another, and honor the sacred space this circle has made among us. Come with your memories, your open hands, and whatever blessing is waiting in you to be given.
