From Learning to Leading—We’re Changing the World, One Day at a Time—With New Partners!!

This summer marks the 8th season of am2pm—our transformative youth service and leadership development program—and we’re celebrating in a big way! We’re thrilled to announce a brand new partnership with Grace Episcopal Church in Medford, a growing team of powerhouse leaders, and a week of community engagement that’s more relevant, inspiring, and necessary than ever.

At the heart of AM2PM is a simple but powerful idea: service isn’t just something we do—it’s a way of life. Over one immersive week, middle and high school students serve their neighbors and explore the systems behind the challenges they see—food insecurity, housing inequality, climate injustice—and discover how they can make a real difference.

This year’s program offers bold, new experiences:

  • Combat food insecurity by working at a campus food pantry

  • Dig into sustainability on an organic farm and with climate equity leaders

  • Join a walk audit with elected officials to rethink how we move in our city

  • Remove invasive species as an act of environmental justice

  • Learn from local housing advocates and serve those experiencing homelessness

  • Use art as resistance in collaboration with Arts for Humanity

  • Close out the week with a Medford clean-up and leadership celebration

And that’s not all…We’re expanding our Peer Mentor program, empowering older teens to step up as leaders, mentors, and bridge-builders. These high school changemakers will earn a stipend, build facilitation and reflection skills, and inspire their younger peers to serve with heart and purpose.

We are honored to welcome to am2pm Kourtni Pattern (Director of Children and Family Ministries @ Grace) and Nate Rubright (Co-Founder Sojourn Collegiate Ministry)—two educators and justice-driven mentors—who bring a wealth of experience in youth development and service learning. And we’re overjoyed to have Kashawna Harling return, anchoring our program with her steady leadership, fierce compassion, and deep roots in community work. Meet the staff and leadership team here.

👉 You can be part of this story.  We’re calling on community members, parents, neighbors, and allies to invest in this next generation of leaders:

  • Volunteer to drive, chaperone, or share your expertise with youth
  • Share this story with someone who needs to hear it
  • Cheer us on by showing up at our final celebration or partnering for future events
