Sunday Soul Circle: Language of the Heart

At Pentecost, the Spirit arrives not as a polished speech, a perfect plan, or a tidy explanation, but as wind, fire, and the sudden miracle of being understood. People from many places, carrying many languages, gather in bewilderment and wonder because something holy is happening: each one hears the good news in the language of their own heart.

In recovery spaces, “the language of the heart” is the shared language of experience: the sayings, stories, wounds, wisdom, honesty, and hope that help people recognize one another across difference. A miracle, some would say.

Pentecost is just such a miracle. The Spirit does not erase what makes us particular. She makes real communion possible without requiring sameness. This Sunday in Soul Circle, we’ll enter the Pentecost story.

Together, we’ll wonder where we are longing to be understood, what heart-language we carry, and how the Spirit might be teaching us to hear one another more deeply.
