Midrash about the “lovely Lilith” notwithstanding – Adam’s partner Eve is considered by Western culture to be the first woman, the first sinner, and the first Bad Girl of the Bible.
So was she as wanton and wicked as later church patriarchy would have us believe, literally taking the fall for it all? Or is it she – the curious one – seeking knowledge and testing limits that defines what it means to be quintessentially human?
